Visit and Enjoy Your Stay in Pentonville, N1
Pentonville is located right on the northern edge of Central London, settled within the London Borough of Islington. The name of the area is derived from the one who developed most of it in the 1770s, Henry Penton. It was first recognised as an ancient parish in Clerkenwell and became a part of the Islington borough in 1965.
The only transport link that serves the area and closest station to the area is the Angel tube station. Pentonville is not famous for any special attractions, maybe apart from it being constantly confused with the location where you can find the HM Prison Pentonville, which is actually located in Barnsbury.
Pentonville is seen in the English culture in a few places, like in literature. Mr Brownlow, a character in Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist lives in a street near Pentonville. The band Babyshambles also has a track named ‘Pentonville’.
